The Management team is committed to remain in compliance with applicable quality standards (including ISO/IEC 17025:2005, current version) for food testing laboratories for both Microbiological and Chemical analysis, and to satisfy the requirements of our clients, regulatory authorities and organizations providing recognition.  The Quality Policy governs the monitoring of the overall quality of the testing procedures in the laboratory.  This is done to assure the Management team and clients that the facilities, equipment, environmental conditions, personnel, methods, data, practices, records and controls are in accordance with the approved methodology and in compliance with the policies and procedures outlined in the current documented quality management system (Quality Manual).  All personnel conducting analysis within the laboratory are required to be trained in the documentation outlined in the Quality Manual and are required to follow the policies stated within.  The Management team is dedicated to continuous improvement of the documented quality management system, which provides guidance in support of compliance with applicable quality standards (including ISO/IEC 17025:2005, current version).  All aspects of the Quality Policy are designed to achieve and maintain the highest degree of confidence in the analytical services provided by Barrow-Agee Laboratories.  




Barrow-Agee is ISO/IEC 17025:2005 accredited (Biological Certificate Number: 3250.01) by the American Association of Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA).  Please click here to view the laboratory's ISO 17025 accreditation certificate and scope of accreditation issued by A2LA. Our ISO/IEC 17025:2005 Scope of Accrediation includes analysis for Aerobic Plate Count, Yeast and Mold, Salmonella, Listeria, Staphylococcus aureus, E. coli, Coliforms, Clostridium perfringens, Chlorinated Pesticides,  Organophosphate Pesticides, PCB's, Mercury, Metals and othe Elements, Tetracyclines, Sulfonamides and Ractopamine.  Barrow-Agee is also accredited by the USDA FSIS for Chlorinated Pesticide Residues.  




All analysis is performed in a secured, access controlled facility.  The FDA registered laboratory facilities are designed to maintain sample integrity and to minimize cross contamination from the point of sample receipt to analysis.  All laboratories offer sufficient work space and sufficient separation of work areas to avoid cross contamination.  The environmental temperature is maintained within the method, equipment and instrument specifications.  Microbiological Laboratory personnel sanitize work stations between sample preparation to prevent cross contamination.




The Quality Officer along with laboratory management oversees the laboratory check sample program. The laboratory participates in numerous check sample programs which are governed by various organizations (e.g.: AOCS, AAFCO, API, USDA and CFIA).




All results, information and reports are strictly confidential and the property of the client contracting the services of Barrow-Agee Laboratories.  No results, information or reports are released to a third party without the written permission of the client.  All results are submitted to the client (and permitted contacts) requesting the analysis in a secure, read-only PDF format.  Access to Barrow-Agee Laboratories is limited to authorized personnel only and strict confidentiality is maintained in all interactions with clients.  All visitors are escorted by laboratory personnel and are required to execute Mutual non-disclosure agreements before entry into the laboratory.
